We once visited Marathwada to experience what a drought was like. At an orphanage in Beed, some children were bathing under a tree trunk. Then it was understood that the same water was usedto the tree. But the children were experiencing such a shortage of water that they could not bathe every day. That means there’s no water for the trees every day. It felt like taking these kids to a village with 24-hour water in the city, taking them to mama’s village, making them their mamas, showing them dreams and having a lot of fun. And then that’s where the initiative came about. Every year, we bring different orphans and children with disabilities for summer vacations, arrange for them to stay for a few days, take them around Pune and surrounding areas, by giving them an experience to mama’s village which is full of joy and love. The initiative to become the mama of orphans is ‘let’s go to mama’s village’.
